You Will Be Missed

Indianapolis Colts Head Coach 2001-2008

Indianapolis Head Coach calls it quits. Tony Dungy spent seven years here in Indy and finished with a record of 92-33. In 2006 he helped this town get its only Super Bowl Trophy by being the first African-American Head Coach to win the Big Game. He turned our team from a mediocre franchise to a winning power-house. Since his start in 2001 the Colts have finished every season with a winning record. This year he set a new NFL Head Coach record by making his tenth straight playoff appearance (going back to his Tampa Bay days). Above all this, he did it by being a class act. His charity work in the local community is second to none. So it goes without saying that he will be sadly missed by his colleagues, players and Colts fans all around Indianapolis.

So, now we move on. Jim Caldwell has been named as Dungy’s successor. Caldwell joined the Colts in 2002 as QB Coach. Then became Assistant Head Coach in 2005. In 2008 he was promoted to Associate Head Coach. He has worked with Dungy and knows our system. There are bigger names out there that the Colts could go with. But, this is who they choose and I’m sure they know what they are doing. So with that I say, Good-bye Tony Dungy, we will miss you.

  1. Indeed he will be missed, but he has set us up to succeed. We shall move on without him.
